How To Set Up Your Spray Tan Room

spray tan room

If you're looking to start your own spray tanning business or create a spray tan room in your home, there are a few essential items you'll need to get started. It's important to ensure you have everything you need to provide a professional experience for your clients. Here are the essential things you'll need to set up your spray tan room!

Spray Tan Machine

The first thing you'll need for your spray tan room is a spray tan machine. Our Naked Tan Pro Lite Spray Tan Machine is the perfect machine for any salon, small or large! It is reliable, easy to use, and produces a consistent spray pattern, perfect for professionals. The Naked Tan Pro Lite Spray Tan Machine comes with a hose, 2 spray guns, and a 12-month warranty!

Tanning Solution

The next essential item is tanning solution. It’s important to ensure you have a range of colour options to suit different skin tones. Naked Tan’s range of solutions are high-quality products that are safe, easy to use, and produce a natural-looking tan. All Naked Tan solutions contain natural ingredients, are vegan, free of harmful chemicals, and come in a 8 of shades to suit different skin tones.

Disposables

It’s important to protect yourself and your clients by wearing the proper gear. You'll need to have available disposable hairnets/shower caps and disposable underwear for your clients to wear during the spray tan session. It is also a good idea to have sticky feet available for your clients so the soles of their feet are protected and makeup wipes to remove makeup before the tan.

Room Set Up

Your spray tan room should be clean, organised, and free of clutter. Choose a room that is well-ventilated, with good air circulation to prevent any overspray from settling on surfaces. We also recommend having an extractor fan in your tanning room to ensure the air in the room stays clean. You'll also need a comfortable area for your clients to stand on, such as a mat, towels or a tanning tent. Be sure to have plenty of clean towels on hand as well and make sure the area that your client will be standing on is clean after each tan for your next client.

A few other essentials that you should have in your spray tan room are a hook/hanger for you client to hang their clothes on, a shelf or table for your disposables and products, an applicator mitt for blending, a bowl for your client’s jewellery and a full mirror so your clients can see their beautiful tan at the end of the appointment. We recommend having our Crème de la crème in your room to moisturise your clients’ dry areas before you spray and our Face Tan Mist for any clients with sensitive skin. It’s also a great idea to have a poster on your wall with tanning tips to promote retail products.

Lighting

Proper lighting is important when it comes to spray tanning, you need to be able to see what you’re doing in order to achieve a flawless tan. You'll need a bright, well-lit room to ensure you can see the tanning solution as you're applying it. Natural light is great, but if your room doesn't have windows, consider using bright, overhead lighting or a lamp.

Aftercare Products

Finally, it's important to provide your clients with aftercare instructions and products. This may include a moisturiser such as our Crème de la Crème or Gradual Tan to extend the life of the tan, Body Cleanser to use as a body wash and Body Exfoliator to prepare for the next tan.
